Yay!

So that beautiful gown that pictures still yet to exist for? Well it got me an A- in my Advanced Patternmaking class AND its being entered into the Sew in Love Wedding competition in Philly. I was one of five students selected from my school. I feel proud.

In another turn of events, my out of commission phone got replaced today with a nice new shiny smartphone. Good day indeed.

Lastly as I sign off this quick post, heres a video (taken on said new shiny phone) of my sister doing what she does best. Playing her harp.

I'm a happy lil camper right now. Contemp is done and I got into the Annual Fashion show all in the same day! And I thought of this song. And I wanted to dance. So I did, by myself in my room. Its such a relief knowing that my work was strong enough to be accepted, it makes the upset stomachs and all nighters well worth it. Now I can focus on making my mini-line for my interview with Charming for  Friday. Collection is not just a class, its definitely a labor of love, a lot goes into creating things interesting enough to considered different, or avant garde or just worthy of attention. Like my class judge told me, "its often that one little thing that makes it safe that makes it forgettable; so be bold". I did, and I guess it paid off. I honestly couldn't be happier. Adventures of the New Wife, pt. 1

As you may or may not know, I got married a month ago to my unlikely bff and true love. (unlikely if you knew either of us in high school) Its been equal parts of magical and maddening.  He is my bug- killing knight in loungewear glory, he adores my cooking and finds me to be a distraction. In truth (and this is in NO WAY negative) I find marriage and cohabitation to be my distraction. What I have found is over the last 9 months, I've spent more time cooking and decorating than sewing. I miss it. I finally got all my sewing things moved over to the new house, but my basement studio is currently being overrun by scary basement creatures like various kinds of crickets and long legged centipede things (the latter give me nightmares), and so I'm somewhat refusing to be downstairs alone. My new haven is my wonderfully small, bright orange kitchen. Even though this is not a food blog, I do keep a recipes tab so I'll try to get some of my latest creations up. I've almost mas...

The Green- Eyed Momster

Authors Note : I wrote this post over a week ago. I sat on it, started writing a completely different and unrelated post because I initially felt this was just too silly and nobody would take me seriously, or worse yet, further agree that my feelings were ridiculous and be dismissive. However after rereading my own words I felt a therapeutic release to get my feelings and thoughts out to the world (and I'm sure my therapist would agree.) There is absolutely another mom out there who thinks like I did, a simple Google search of "my baby is ____ months old and still not____" or "my baby is doing xyz, is this normal?" shows this. We all want the best for our babies, and I want moms to know that  YOUR BABY IS FINE, 99% of the time.
